Hispack is making strong progress towards its 20th edition.

More than six months ahead of the event, Spain’s leading packaging, processing, and logistics trade fair has already secured 85% of its planned exhibition space and confirmed the participation of the industry’s leading packaging and processing companies. These figures reflect the sector’s confidence in the event and point to a growth-focused edition.

The organisers expect to bring together more than 900 exhibitors, 10% more than in 2024, while further strengthening the show’s international profile, with more than a quarter of participating companies coming from outside Spain.

Organised by Fira de Barcelona, Hispack will celebrate its milestone 20th edition from 4 to 7 May 2027 at the Gran Via venue, arriving at a defining moment for the transformation of the packaging industry. Against the backdrop of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), alongside the drive towards circularity, process digitalisation, and growing demand for more sustainable solutions, change is accelerating across the packaging value chain.

The show’s commercial offering is designed to respond directly to this transformation, bringing together leading companies in materials, packaging, industrial packing solutions, processing and packaging machinery, labelling, bottling, logistics, robotics, and automation. Among the sectors with the strongest presence to date are Packaging Machinery & Process and Brand Packaging, both of which are experiencing high demand for exhibition space and attracting some of the industry’s most significant investments.

According to Jordi Bernabeu, chairman of the Hispack Organising Committee: “The current booking pace demonstrates the strength of the industry and the confidence companies place in Hispack as a business and knowledge platform. All indications suggest that the show will once again bring together the most comprehensive and representative commercial offering in the Iberian market, helping end-user industries address the challenges of the coming years with confidence through innovative packaging solutions.”

Two districts designed to drive business

One of the main innovations of Hispack 2027 will be the redefinition of the two major areas structuring the exhibition’s programme of activities and networking opportunities: Brand District and Tech & Trade District, aligned respectively with the exhibition offerings in Halls 2 and 3.

Brand District (Hall 2)
Building on the former Unboxing space, the Brand District will serve as the meeting point for professionals interested in packaging as a tool for differentiation, consumer experience, sustainability, and value creation. Its programme will cover:

  • Branding and user experience strategies
  • Circular economy initiatives and packaging performance
  • Applications of artificial intelligence throughout the packaging lifecycle
  • Presentation of international Best-in-Class case studies
  • Dedicated initiatives celebrating Hispack’s 20th anniversary

Tech & Trade District (Hall 3)
Expanding the concept of the former International Business Center, the Tech & Trade District combines technical content with commercial opportunities. It will bring together content related to machinery, processing technologies, labelling, bottling, logistics, automation, and robotics through:

  • Dedicated business meetings and international buyer programmes
  • Themed guided tours and strategic networking activities
  • Connections between equipment manufacturers and targeted market buyers

“The packaging industry is undergoing profound transformation, and we want Hispack to be the space where solutions, knowledge and the professionals driving this change come together. These two activity districts will help us deliver a more specialised, practical and market-focused experience,” says Xavier Pascual, director of Hispack.

Automation, circularity, and internationalisation

Automation, robotics, and intralogistics will continue to gain prominence at the next edition of Hispack. As companies seek to improve operational efficiency, traceability, and supply chain sustainability, investment in advanced production and logistics technologies is increasing, making these areas some of the fastest-growing segments of the exhibition.

In this context, the Tech & Trade District will host a new edition of Engineers Day, a dedicated event for professionals working in engineering, operations, production, and intralogistics, designed to connect end-user industries directly with the latest technological innovations.

Internationalisation remains a key strategic pillar for the event:

  • 27% international exhibitors: over a quarter of confirmed participating companies originate outside Spain.
  • Targeted buyer programmes: in collaboration with amec, Hispack is developing dedicated B2B networking opportunities and buyer initiatives.
  • Hosted buyer delegation: organisers plan to invite 70 carefully selected buyers with proven purchasing capacity from strategic focus countries, including Mexico, Morocco, Egypt, and Algeria.

A landmark 20th edition

The celebration of the show’s 20th edition will play a central role in Hispack 2027. Beyond marking a historic anniversary, the event aims to highlight the shared journey of the companies, associations, institutions, and professionals that have contributed to the growth of the exhibition and the development of Spain’s packaging industry over more than four decades.

To mark this milestone, Hispack will launch a series of commemorative initiatives to celebrate the legacy of the trade show, revisit the voices and companies that have shaped its history, and connect the industry’s evolution with the challenges of the future.

In addition, the co-location with Graphispag will strengthen commercial synergies between packaging, printing, labelling, coding, and visual communication. Together, the two co-located events are expected to surpass 1,000 total exhibitors and attract around 37,000 trade visitors.
