Fowler Welch wins contract extension

UK logistics and supply chain specialist Fowler Welch has secured a contract extension with Marlow Foods, owner of meat-free brand Quorn.

Marlow Foods, owned by Monde Nissin Corporation, has extended its contract with Fowler Welch for a further five years to collect, store, pick and dispatch chilled Quorn products to regional distribution centres across the country.

Christophe Evo, logistics director at Marlow Foods, says, “The relationship between Marlow Foods and Fowler Welch has grown from being a simple transactional based collaboration to a close working business relationship.

“Fowler Welch have shown tremendous flexibility in a challenging FMCG environment and are consistently engaging with us in order to streamline and improve our supply chain organisation.”

John Peall, deputy managing director at Fowler Welch, adds, “We have been working in partnership with Marlow Foods since 2007 and we are delighted that our contract has been extended for a further five years – it’s testament to the dedication, hunger and passion of our team.

“We started working together nine years ago, after Marlow Foods was exploring options for storage and distribution and visited our Spalding facility, and saw the potential in joining our warehouse portfolio.

“Since joining our operation at Spalding, Marlow Foods has enjoyed steady growth in volume and overall delivery profile, which continues to this day. We have also seen greater momentum over recent months and Marlow Foods now has extensive plans to increase sales consistently over the long term.”

Fowler Welch currently moves 8.5 million cases a year for Marlow Foods and now, with the contract extension, this number is set to increase further.
