Givaudan to launch Vegebrite Veggie Reds at Expo West

At Natural Products’ Expo West 2020 trade show, Givaudan will be launching a new line of natural red colours designed specifically for meat substitutes. Vegebrite Veggie Reds promise to deliver a better consumer preparation experience, introducing a meat-like red colour to raw plant-based patties that then turns brown when cooked.

Visitors to Givaudan’s Expo West booth will be able to see the Vegebrite Veggie Reds in action and experience the new look of plant-based protein in a mini burger concept, as well as being able to sample the “real meat” flavour experience, enabled by careful application of Givaudan’s natural beef, umami and soy masking flavours.

In addition, Naturex’s bioavailable and versatile tumeric extract, Turmipure Gold, will also be highlighted at Expo West. A 300mg dose of the tumeric extract will be featured in a ginger yogurt and a chai latte. The extract delivers the same amount of curcuminoids to the blood as 1922mg of standard turmeric (containing 95% curcuminoids).

Naturex will also showcase its expertise in botanicals at the trade show, with the introduction of a new range of brewed herbal tea concentrates for mood and relaxation. These products will be highlighted in a pear and hibiscus mocktail, naturally flavoured by Givaudan.

Santiago Vega, director of Marketing, Nutrition & Health, North America, said: “We’re excited to be able to offer complete plant-based solutions from the ground up. The consumer experience starts with visual appeal from natural colours. A selection of natural ingredients then works together to provide the right taste, texture, and mouthfeel, while our natural preservation solutions maintain product stability throughout shelf life. And finally, our botanical extracts can add a wellness appeal to functional food and beverage brands looking to attract health-minded consumers.”

The company will be welcoming visitors at booth 735 during Expo West 2020 (3-7 March in Anaheim, California).
