Cargill invests in ground beef facilities

na3064915Cargill has revealed that it’s investing £1.14 million (€1.76m) in ground beef production and packaging equipment at its US beef processing facility.

The equipment will add significant ground beef production capacity at the plant and create around 20 new jobs, says the firm.

“Cargill produces more ground beef than any other company in the world, and demand continues to be strong for this form of protein as a staple food,” says Andy Ripic, Cargill vice president and plant general manager at Wyalusing. “Our customers have told us they would like us to produce more ground beef to meet demand and that’s why we’re making this investment.”
