DAVA Foods Ingredients has taken a major step in expanding its presence across the Nordic food ingredients market by reaching an agreement to acquire the Swedish spice and ingredient specialist Kryddhuset i Ljung from Humble Group.

The takeover directly advances DAVA Foods’ long-term strategic ambition to deepen its footprint in the value chain and solidify its standing as a leading supplier of food ingredients throughout Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Estonia.

Kryddhuset, based in Ljung, Sweden, brings deep-rooted expertise in developing, manufacturing, and marketing specialised spice blends, flavour solutions, and ingredient products for both consumer retail and industrial food producers. In 2025, Kryddhuset generated 68.2 million SEK in revenue — with 10% derived from exports to Norway — and currently employs 22 staff members. Under the new ownership structure, Kryddhuset’s existing leadership team and workforce will remain in place to drive day-to-day operations.

The transaction delivers an immediate shift in scale for DAVA Foods, boosting its overall volume in spice mixtures and flavour solutions by over 50%. Beyond sheer scale, the acquisition provides DAVA Foods with valuable production capacity at the Ljung facility and a complementary customer network.

DAVA Foods expects the move to unlock substantial commercial synergies across purchasing, sales, product development, and factory utilisation. Group CEO Ivan Noes highlighted the acquisition as a pivotal milestone in DAVA Foods’ broader strategy to build integrated, value-adding partnerships across the food industry.

For Humble Group, the divestment aligns with an ongoing effort to sharpen focus on its core operations, where spices and ingredients no longer represent a strategic priority.

In handing the reins to DAVA Foods, Humble Group expressed confidence in placing Kryddhuset with an owner possessing both the industry insight and long-term ambition necessary to nurture the business. By integrating Kryddhuset’s product capabilities into its existing raw material and production infrastructure, DAVA Foods continues its transformation into a multi-faceted ingredients partner for the broader Nordic region.
