Direct Food Ingredients celebrates transatlantic success

Direct Food Ingredients is celebrating its US office reaching nearly $1 million in sales in its first year of trading.
Launched in February 2015, the company opened a Los Angeles based office and 75,000 square feet warehousing and distribution facility to support the firm’s ambitious international expansion plans.
Steve Loake, founder and MD, says, “Our entry into the US market has been focused on our two core areas of sports nutrition and nutraceuticals, and to be turning over just under $1 million at the end of our first year is very encouraging indeed.
“The Direct Food Ingredients brand has been built upon employing the highest quality standards in everything we do, and we have benefitted from the fact that many areas of the US market are driven by low quality imports from China. Our stringent quality assured offer has seen considerable demand. In a matter of months we brought on board 12 US based large manufacturer clients.”
This news follows exceptional 2015 UK trading results, which saw the business generate £13.7 million in sales, a 52% like for like annual growth on the previous year.
