• According to resource recovery specialist Axion, most flexible plastic packaging can be recycled, however, investment of £100 million in collection, sorting and recycling infrastructure would be needed to make it happen in the UK.
• On 3 September 2018, Birmingham, UK will be welcoming around 100 exhibitors and 3,000 visitors from all corners of the globe with one thing in common – a passion for tea and coffee.
• As part of a broader programme to address the issue of plastic straw waste, Tetra Pak has revealed that it is aiming to launch a paper straw that is suitable for its portion-sized carton packages before the end of the year.
• Arla Foods Germany is the first company to opt for the Signature Pack from SIG – an aseptic carton pack that is linked to plant-based renewable material.
• The UK Plastics Pact launched by the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) is a collaboration which brings together businesses from across the plastics value chain with UK governments and NGOs to tackle the issue of plastic waste
• Manufacturer of plastic products IPL Plastics is launching two new sizes of containers for the food industry.
