Bowman Ingredients invests millions in new facility

Flour and coatings supplier Bowman Ingredients has commissioned a new blending plant in Hertfordshire, UK. The fully-automated facility – costing £6 million (€7.4m) – is located close to Bowman’s existing factory and flour mill.

“We’re delighted to announce this next stage of our development, as we seek to utilise the latest processing technology drawn from manufacturing systems from the pharmaceutical industry to deliver key benefits to customers,” says chief executive Rory Bowman. “Our new facility will enable us to substantially enhance our product protection systems and blending controls while also streamlining our traceability procedures.

“The new plant will provide greater flexibility and enable us to react even faster to product launch timelines and new business opportunities. In addition, we have taken the opportunity to centralise our ingredients warehousing and distribution on the new site.”
