IFST publishes food sustainability report

The Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) has released a new Sustainable Food System Framework: A Focus on Food Sustainability report.

The report outlines six key themes: resource risks and pressures; healthy sustainable diets; circular economy and sustainable manufacturing; novel production systems and ingredients; decent work and equitable trade; transparency, traceability and trust.

John Bassett, IFST policy and scientific development director, says, “We aim to provide practical support for those looking to implement sustainable practices, and proactive messaging to encourage joined up, evidence based policy and strategy development by UK government and food system stakeholders throughout the farm to fork continuum.”
