Protein Ball Co. tackles format fatigue with ‘Stuffed’ range

Seeking to disrupt the “sea of jaw-aching, ultra-processed protein bars,” The Protein Ball Co. has announced the March 2026 launch of Stuffed, a three-strong collection of dual-textured protein balls designed to offer a more sophisticated snacking experience.

The release follows a successful period of growth for the brand, which recently secured high-profile listings with Caffè Nero and David Lloyd Gyms, alongside a significant expansion of its core sharing range in both domestic and international markets.

The new range is a direct response to what the brand calls “format fatigue” — a growing consumer weariness toward traditional, dense protein bars. Each 35g pack contains three balls featuring a “firm yet chewy” outer layer contrasted with a decadent, velvety-smooth liquid centre.

The launch line-up includes three on-trend, “flavour-immersive” varieties:

  1. Pistachio: a nutty, permissive pleasure.
  2. Hazelnut: a lavish, classic indulgence.
  3. Matcha: an all-enveloping, earthy profile for the adventurous palate.

Beyond taste, the product’s format is strategically aligned with shifting global health trends. Matt Hunt, co-founder of The Protein Ball Co., noted that the rise of the GLP-1 movement (weight-loss medications) — initially in North America and now gaining traction in the UK — has created a specific demand for nutrient-dense, smaller-portion snacks that can be consumed throughout the day.

“Our commitment to bold, full-bodied flavours means we’re always looking to differentiate ourselves,” says Hunt. “Whether it’s an on-the-go commute treat, a work desk timeout, or a post-gym pick-me-up, we believe Stuffed offers a clean-deck energy lift and an added tingle of foodie intrigue.”

Clean Label, High Texture
True to the brand’s “clean-deck” philosophy, the Stuffed range maintains a focus on minimal processing while maximizing flavor complexity. The goal is to provide a “next-level bite” that functions as both a functional energy source and an indulgent ritual.
