MycoTechnology has entered a strategic commercial collaboration with Adorvia Biotechnology that positions both companies at the forefront of the fast‑moving natural sweetener market.

The partnership pairs MycoTechnology’s newly launched Zukora Honey Truffle Sweet Protein with Adorvia’s proprietary Reb M stevia, creating a next‑generation sweetener system designed to help manufacturers deliver cleaner, more sugar‑like sweetness across multiple food and beverage categories.

The agreement marks a significant commercial step for both businesses, strengthening MycoTechnology’s presence in North America while opening new pathways into China and wider global markets through Adorvia’s established distribution network.

A commercial partnership built for global scale

Under the collaboration, MycoTechnology and Adorvia will combine scientific expertise, formulation capabilities and market reach to support food and beverage companies seeking natural, better‑tasting sugar reduction solutions.

The companies have formalised joint go‑to‑market activities in North America and signed a distribution agreement appointing Adorvia as MycoTechnology’s exclusive distributor in China for ClearIQ Natural Flavor — a mushroom‑derived flavour modifier used to improve taste in reduced‑sugar and high‑protein applications.

This distribution move is strategically significant. China remains one of the world’s fastest‑growing markets for natural sweeteners and better‑for‑you product innovation, giving MycoTechnology a direct route into a region where demand for clean sweetness solutions continues to accelerate.

Mimicking sugar’s taste curve

The collaboration centres on the complementary performance of Zukora and Reb M stevia. Zukora delivers smooth, clean sweetness without bitterness, metallic notes or lingering aftertaste, while Adorvia’s Reb M provides rapid sweet onset and strong sweetness intensity. Together, the ingredients allow formulators to build sweetener systems that closely replicate sugar’s taste curve — addressing common challenges associated with high‑intensity sweeteners such as off‑notes, delayed sweetness and poor flavour balance.

The companies have already tested the pairing in multiple applications, including beverages and protein bars, with prototypes showcased at IFT FIRST in Chicago.

Natural sweeteners enter a new phase

The partnership signals a broader shift in the sugar‑reduction landscape. As manufacturers move beyond single‑ingredient solutions, hybrid sweetener systems — combining sweet proteins, stevia technologies and taste modulators — are emerging as a new standard for achieving sugar‑like performance without added calories.

By aligning fungal fermentation expertise with advanced stevia technology, MycoTechnology and Adorvia are positioning themselves as key players in this next phase of natural sweetness innovation. Their collaboration strengthens supply chain reach, expands global distribution and provides manufacturers with a more versatile toolkit for reformulation.

Outlook

With consumer demand for natural, clean‑label sweetness continuing to rise, the MycoTechnology–Adorvia partnership offers a commercially significant pathway for brands seeking to reduce sugar without compromising taste. The collaboration enhances both companies’ global footprint, deepens their technical capabilities and reinforces the growing importance of multi‑ingredient sweetener systems in modern product development.
