The National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS) results for Scotland have been published. This report provides combined results covering the period from 2008 to 2012 and allows key comparisons with the UK NDNS results which were published in May 2014.

The Scotland report covers the same topics as the main UK report, including food and nutrient consumption and biochemical measures of nutritional status for males and females by age group from 18 months upwards.

Overall, the Scottish population is consuming too much saturated fat, added sugars and salt and not enough fruit, vegetables and fibre.
