Boutique Cider company harvests growth with Infor CloudSuite food and beverage

Infor, a leading provider of business applications specialised by industry and built for the cloud, has announced that Swedish Cider and Fruit product company Kiviks Musteri (Kiviks) has invested in Infor CloudSuite Food and Beverage. The application, which is built on Infor M3, will help establish a robust foundation from which to pursue future growth and help modernise the business overall, while delivering low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and enhanced traceability capabilities.

Having experienced growth of 100% in the last seven years, Kiviks needed to review its IT infrastructure to ensure it was delivering the necessary agility to capitalize on future potential, and that it was sufficiently scalable to achieve similar levels of success in the years ahead.  Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage was selected based on an existing relationship with Infor and confidence in the technology, and the smaller IT footprint facilitated by deploying the system in the cloud.  The solution’s out-of-the-box, deep industry specific functionality for food companies was also a major advantage in ensuring the team hit the ground running, and future-proofing its investment.

“As we are a small but fast growing company with a complex range of products and services, we have been hugely impressed with Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage,” comments Mattias Wistrand, CFO, Kiviks Musteri.  “With more than 70 different varieties of apple grown in our orchards, and a product range which spans apple juices, cider, sauces, jams and marmalades as well as dessert sauces, maximizing yield and ensuring availability is a challenge.  In many cases we are in the hands of nature as apples must be picked at precisely the right time to ensure the best flavor, and the processing window is short.  However, the right IT platform can ensure rigor in our processes, helping to maximize yield and boost revenue opportunities.”

“As well as providing Kivik’s with a robust growth platform for the future, Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage will help result in reduced administration and less revenue leakage,” he continues.  “Its cloud-based out-of-the-box functionality and standardization means we can focus all our energies on developing our business – not our ERP system.”

“Protecting margins and reputation through the leanest operations and most advanced traceability capabilities are paramount for today’s food producers,” comments Mike Edgett, process industry and solution strategy director, Infor.  “Kiviks is a great example of a small company, managing huge complexity in its raw material ingredients and thereby punching well above its weight in terms of success, and with a robust, modern IT backbone. It can continue to drive this success and increase market share without carrying the unnecessary risk which comes with being shackled by an old technology platform.”
