ROUND-UP: Equipment – PPMA 2015 special

From 29 September-1 October, Birmingham’s NEC played host to the PPMA Show 2015. Below is a round-up of just some of the new equipment on show over the three-day complete production line event for processing and packaging machinery.

- Visitors to the PPMA show were introduced to R A Rodriguez’s new workbench mounted UR3, the latest in its Universal range of robots.
- At PPMA, Rotech unveiled its new RF-Box Feeder, launched in response to enquiries from food and FMCG packers wanting to code secondary flat pack boxes and cartons offline.
- At last month’s PPMA show, industrial automation specialist Omron showcased vision systems which aid product traceability and help fight counterfeiting, alongside delta robots that can be easily integrated into automation systems.
- At PPMA 2015 Fortress Technology revealed the Interceptor, said to increase stainless steel detection by 100% compared to the most recent generations of metal detectors.
- Fanuc UK showcased the capabilities of robots with intelligent vision at the PPMA show, with a robotic golf cell that gave a masterclass in precision putting.
- Pacepacker Services unveiled its new high speed bagging line, FastPac, at the PPMA exhibition.
- A medium speed stick pack machine, servo driven and capable of speeds of up to 250 a minute, was demonstrated at this year’s PPMA show for the first time by PFM Packaging Machinery.
- Allen Coding announced the addition of Hitachi’s new UX inkjet printer series to its growing portfolio of marking and coding equipment at the PPMA show.
