€35m Glanbia investment

Glanbia Ingredients Ireland (GII) is to seek planning permission for a major expansion at its Wexford cheese plant.

The proposed €35m investment is supported by Enterprise Ireland and will double peak milk processing capacity at the plant on the outskirts of Wexford town.

Wexford Creamery was acquired by Glanbia in May 2014. During 2015, the plant at Rocklands produced almost 20,000 tonnes of cheddar cheese. The Wexford investment will also deliver a very valuable whey stream for the sports nutrition sector.
