Coatings and fillings

Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate has launched new additions to its coatings and fillings range, each responding to a trend identified in the company’s recently issued trends report, namely: healthy, sustainable and clean and indulgent.

  • Healthy: the coatings and fillings have been reformulated to reduce sugar by at least 30 per cent, and contain around 20 per cent protein
  • Sustainable and Clean: they are naturally coloured with plant extracts – from beetroot to give a warm red colour, to spirulina for a deep blue
  • Indulgent: a lemon flavour offering taps into demand for citrus flavours, which is booming worldwide; while salted caramel combines a vintage toffee flavour with a silky texture, appealing to adults and children alike.
