Nexture rolls out GLP‑1 smart formulation toolkit

Nutrient dense yogurt.
Nexture has introduced a complete portfolio of “ready to roll ingredient solutions for the development of nutrient dense and sensorially appealing goods”, positioning the group as an early mover in what it calls a structural transformation of the food industry.
The launch responds to the rapid global uptake of GLP‑1 medications, which are reshaping eating habits and accelerating demand for products that deliver more nutrition per bite.
CEO Valerie Diele‑Braun said: “GLP-1 is reshaping how millions of people relate to food – what they eat, how much, and what they expect from every bite” . She added that the shift represents “one of the most complex formulation challenges in decades, and one of its greatest opportunities.”
The portfolio spans multi‑benefit systems and targeted enrichment tools developed across Nexture’s group companies — HiFood, Frulact, CSM Ingredients and Italcanditi. The solutions are designed for integration into existing production lines, enabling manufacturers to reformulate across bakery, snacks, dairy alternatives, ready meals, sauces, beverages and more.
The company emphasises that the systems are “ready-to-implement solutions” that support rapid development of GLP‑1‑smart products without compromising processability or sensory performance.
Nexture’s multi‑benefit systems include Meltec, a patented fibre‑based sugar‑reduction technology that replicates the functional properties of sugars and syrups. According to the release, Meltec “allows to enhance texture and mouthfeel across multiple reduced sugar applications, improving creaminess in ice cream, binding in bars and snacks, structure in bakery, and body in non-alcoholic and zero-sugar beverages” .
Other solutions include high‑fibre fruit preparations enriched with vitamins and minerals, semi‑candied fruits with no added sugars, and a Protein Universal Mix for high‑protein, high‑fibre bread with a “full, rustic, and pleasant sensory profile.”
Targeted systems address specific formulation challenges such as high‑solubility fibre enrichment, protein fortification, texture development and fat reduction — including SlimBAKE, a reduced‑fat emulsion for laminated baked goods.
While the release does not explicitly quantify sustainability metrics, the portfolio’s focus on nutrient density, sugar reduction, fat reduction and fibre enrichment aligns with broader industry goals around responsible formulation, reduced overconsumption and more efficient use of raw materials. Multi‑benefit systems that replace multiple ingredients may also support streamlined supply chains and reduced waste.
The company cites the scale of the GLP‑1 shift as a key driver: the GLP‑1 market is forecast to grow from (USD) $101.4 billion in 2026 to (USD) $180 billion by 2035, according to Root Analysis. A Circana analysis shows GLP‑1 usage already touches “approximately 23% of households in the United States alone” . These shifts underpin the need for nutrient‑dense, sensory‑appealing foods that compensate for reduced appetite and altered taste perception among GLP‑1 users.
For manufacturers, Nexture’s portfolio combines nutrient density, indulgence and technical performance. As appetite‑suppressing medications reshape consumption patterns, the ability to deliver more protein, fibre and functional benefits in smaller portions will become a competitive differentiator.
Nexture’s integrated platform, spanning multiple specialist companies, positions it as a one‑stop partner for brands seeking to future‑proof their formulations for the GLP‑1 era.
