Eden Project teams up with TV chef for pasty range

EmilyWhitfield-Wicks-13-02-14-Pasties-02The British environmental and nature attraction Eden Project has teamed up with TV chef James Strawbridge and a team of local suppliers to create a range of pasties.

The pasties in the Eden Extraordinary range have gone on sale at Eden, ahead of the World Pasty Championships that wilonment and nature attractionl be held there on 1 March.

Local suppliers include Colwith Farm, Davidstow, Whalesborough Cheese and Cornish Gouda Co, Trewithen Dairy and meat supplier Kittows of Fowey. Crantock Bakery will be making the pasties to Strawbridge’s recipe and will supply them exclusively to Eden.

The ingredients from the pasties will be showcased during the day of the World Pasty Championships. The competition is open to amateurs as well as professionals, and entrants may submit traditional pasties as well as more outlandish creations.

This year’s World Pasty Championships will mark the start of Eden’s “Charity Begins in Cornwall” campaign, which will help ten small Cornish charities with their fundraising. 
The campaign will match donations up to a value of £20,000.
 In addition,The Championships are backed by the Cornish Pasty Association.
