LycoRed opens premix plant in China
LycoRed, Israel, has announced the opening of a new plant in Changzhou, China.
The plant will be available for commercial production by the end of this year, producing a range of premixes for nutritional fortification for the Asian market.
The new plant comes in the wake of research conducted by LycoRed that showed ‘a growing demand for nutritional premixes in Asia Pacific, in addition to accelerated demand for Lyc-O-Mato in Japan, China and Thailand’.
‘LycoRed is a well-known supplier of nutritional premixes for leading food companies, especially in Europe,” says Morris Zelkha, president and CEO of LycoRed. “Building this new plant in China, coupled with our extensive plant in the UK, is in line with our goal to strengthen our position in the Asia-Pacific market and become a preferred supplier of natural functional ingredients to food and beverage companies worldwide. Once we establish a relationship with a new client, it is important to be responsive to the clients need in terms of real-time return and accessibility, and provide tailor-made solutions in a single location.
“Our initial business plan is to satisfy the needs of existing multinational customers who have manufacturing facilities in both China and Asia Pacific, as well as the local needs of established food manufacturers in China looking for western standard.
“The factory has been designed and built to the highest quality standard. We anticipate growing our business with manufacturers of infant formulae in the region and also exporting to other regions of the world.”
