New flavours from Coca-Cola brands

Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) has announced new flavours from some of its biggest brands, including Capri-Sun, Appletiser and Fanta. All are launching in March 2019.

Appletiser Spritzer

Appletiser has announced its biggest innovation in two years with Appletiser Spritzer, a 250ml canned sparkling fruit juice drink.

Launching in March, Appletiser Spritzer contains 50% real fruit juice and 50% sparkling water giving it a clean, crisp and refreshingly light taste. The product will be available in three variants including Apple & Exotic Lime, Apple & Blood Orange and Apple & Passion Fruit. All variants are Soft Drinks Tax exempt and contain zero sweeteners.

Simon Harrison, vice president, commercial development at CCEP GB, said: “Appletiser Spritzer is a natural, light tasting, sparkling, fruit drink that will attract younger consumers to the Appletiser brand by catering to a variety of drinking occasions.”

Fanta Grape Zero

Fanta Zero is launching a new flavour – Grape – which will be available in 330ml cans, 500ml PET bottles, 4x330ml can multipacks and 2litre PET bottles.

Grape is the brand’s most highly requested flavour on social media by its young adult audience and is the second most popular Fanta flavour, after Orange, on CCEP’s Freestyle dispense machines, which are located in foodservice outlets across the country.

Harrison said: “Fanta is one of our leading brands and we know that innovative, great-tasting flavours are key to remaining relevant with our audience while attracting new shoppers. We listened to what this consumer group wants following huge demand on social media.”

Capri-Sun Cherry

Capri-Sun will soon be available in a cherry variety, tapping into the current flavour trend. Capri-Sun Cherry contains no preservatives or artificial flavouring and is Soft Drink Tax-exempt. The new product will be sold in 330ml resealable pouches using the new safety cap that has been designed to reduce a choking hazard.

“Adults account for three-quarters of 330ml Capri-Sun pack consumption,” said Harrison. “The new cherry flavour is bang on trend and will add excitement to the juice drinks segment whilst broadening the appeal of the 330ml Capri-Sun range amongst consumers.”

Honest Lemonade

A new brand from CCEP is Honest Lemonade, an organic, still lemonade that will be available in Pink Lemonade and Original Lemonade varieties.

Made with 12% real fruit juice, the drink is inspired by homemade recipes and combines organic lemons, lemon blossom and sugar cane, with added raspberry juice in the Pink Lemonade. The variants are free from artificial sweeteners and additives and will be available in a 330ml glass bottle – the preferred format for consumers in a licensed environment.

Honest was first launched in the US nearly 20 years ago from co-founder Seth Goldman’s kitchen. The brand aims to fill a gap in the market for healthy and flavourful drinks that are not too sweet.

“Honest Lemonade is inspired by homemade recipes. We kept it simple, choosing a small number of high quality ingredients. The introduction of Honest Lemonade demonstrates how we’re evolving our soft drinks offering as part of our journey to becoming a Total Beverage Company,” said Harrison
