Huel launches its first RTD “meal alternative”

UK-based Huel has announced the launch of its Huel Ready-to-drink, which it says is a nutritionally complete meal, pre-blended for convenience in two flavours – vanilla and berry.

The product, which has a shelf life of 7 months, has been formulated by registered nutritionist James Collier. It is packed with 20g protein, 5.7g fibre, and all 26 essential vitamins and minerals including vitamins A, C and D, potassium, iron and calcium, giving you all the nutrition you need to fuel your day. The Huel Ready-to-drink is packaged in a 100% recyclable plastic bottle and like all Huel’s products is vegan, which allows the brand to continue with their mission of providing convenient, affordable and sustainable food for the growing global population.

The launch of the Huel Ready-to-drink comes after a successful funding round which saw the company raise £20 million from growth equity investors, Highland Europe. Having enjoyed prosperous growth across Europe and the US through 2018, Huel has since launched into China, positioning themselves as global leaders of the nutritionally complete food category.

Speaking of the launch, Huel ‘s co-founder, Julian Hearn said: “Since launching in 2015, we have continuously tried to uphold our brand mission – to provide consumers with nutritionally complete, convenient, affordable food, with minimal impact on animals and the environment. The launch of the Huel Ready-to-drink allows us to enter a new market, targeting those who specifically find themselves eating on-the-go. We can now provide time-conscious consumers with quality nutrition when they might otherwise reach for an unfulfilling, unsustainable quick-fix.”
