Sustainable palm oil coup for Lipsa
Spanish oils and fats company Lipidos Santiga (Lipsa) is now certified to process and supply sustainable palm oil in the Segregation category as specified by the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) criteria. Lipsa says it’s the first Spanish company to obtain such certification, and one of the first in Europe.
Its first shipment of 3,000 tons of Segregated Sustainable Palm Oil arrived from Papua New Guinea last month.
Lipsa supplies to the edible oil sector as well as the animal feed and oleochemical sector in Southern Europe and Northern Africa, with 90% of its production destined for human consumption in products such as biscuits, margarines, ice cream, snacks, baby food, dairy products and chocolates.
