Beverage sweetener to be showcased at drinktec

Nutrinova, the food ingredients business of Celanese, is to showcase Qorus – its sweetener system designed to bring authentic taste profiles to reduced calorie beverages – at next week’s drinktec exhibition.

Qoros enables beverage makers to balance sweetness and flavour while masking off-notes. Diana Peninger, vice president and general manager of Celanese food ingredients business, comments, “We asked our customers to tell us about the formulation process for reduced calorie beverages. They discussed the difficulty in blending various sweeteners and flavours to achieve the desired taste profile and the time involved in the many iterations. With Qorus, sweet really is simple and formulators can innovate products without taste limitations.”

Qorus is also a versatile system that functions in a large variety of processing conditions. The first products in the Qorus portfolio, called Qorus Dolce, are intended for use in reduced and no-calorie beverages and dairy products such as milk and yogurt. The Qorus Dolce 1000/1100 line is designed for 30-70% sugar reduction while the 2000/2100 line is intended for 50-100% sugar reduction in carbonated and still beverages, flavored waters, energy drinks, juice-based drinks and more.
