Gone but not forgotten

We have just taken delivery of a snack box in our office and myself and a colleague have had our usual ‘Wotsits or Quavers’ crisps debate. I’m firmly team Wotsits, so much so that I seem to be the only one here who recalls the various other versions they have released – and discontinued – over the years, such as prawn cocktail flavour and Weenie Wotsits.

It sparked a discussion about food and drink that we can no longer get our hands on, and miss dearly. In addition to prawn cocktail Wotsits, I also long for another bite of Kit Kat Senses, Cadbury Marble or Mars Delight. The return last year of Trio chocolate bars was a highlight of my year, however, following their absence from shelves for 13 long years, so there’s hope for us all.

Other gone but not forgotten foods for the Bell Publishing team include Flake Snow, Citrus Polos, Cadbury Dream and Heinz Baked Beans Pizza.

The replacement of coconut centred chocolates with coffee ones in bags of Revels forced one colleague to boycott the confectionery, while another insists Christmas just isn’t the same without the Galaxy Truffle in Celebrations (these got replaced with Twix in 2011, which doesn’t strike me as a fair swap).
