Smokehouse unveils smoked salmon range

Scottish smokehouse John Ross Jr has launched a new Pulled Salmon range following a successful overseas launch with a major European retailer.

The move forms part of the producer’s ongoing commitment to blend traditional smoking techniques with new flavours in response to growing consumer demand for a wider range of smoked salmon products.

It is slowly kiln roasted using traditional techniques, then gently pulled off the fillet and infused with a marinade of either Cajun spices or honey and mustard seeds.

Both the Pulled Salmon with Cajun Spices and the Pulled Salmon with Honey and Mustard Seeds are available in 140g packs.

Vicky Leigh, sales director, John Ross Jr, says, “Whilst we remain true to our heritage and loyal to the craft of producing smoked salmon using traditional, time honoured techniques, we are seeing increased demand for more specialist ranges as people become keen to explore how smoked salmon can be complemented by other, more exotic flavours.

“As a traditional producer, creating products that are flavour led as opposed to marketing led is integral to our core values, however there is no denying that there is now an appetite for more adventurous smoked salmon flavours and the Cajun Pulled Smoked Salmon is undoubtedly one of the boldest examples of this.”
