Coconut oil popcorn

Nom Foods showcased its organic coconut oil popped and refined sugar free popcorn at the Natural Food & Organic Show in London. Having first launched in September 2015, Nom Foods announced it has secured major listings for the range.

The company uses sustainable and ethical virgin coconut oil to pop its popcorn. Coconut oil is a superfood staple, with numerous health benefits. It’s cholesterol free, sugar free and some studies have shown it to reduce cholesterol levels and speed up the body’s metabolism. Its medium chain fatty acids convert into energy, rather than fat.

The popcorn is available in three flavours: Simply Salted, Salted Maple and Cinnamon Maple. The wholegrain corn is hand popped in the UK in artisan kettles. Nom prides itself on being an ethical brand, and its popcorn stays true to these values. It’s certified organic by the Soil Association, vegan by the Vegan Society and made with ethically sourced ingredients.

Steph Croft-Simon, founder of Nom Foods, says, “We worked really hard on creating an innovative range of popcorn which offers many unique selling points. It’s organic, it’s popped in coconut oil and it’s made without any refined sugars – making it very different from anything else on the market.

“The flavour combinations we’ve launched with haven’t been done before – we strive to do things differently and offer customers the complete package; health, taste and convenience.”
