Caldic Sweden expands production capabilities and services

caldic-logoCaldic Sweden, a full service distributor of food ingredients, expands its business by acquiring the former factory of IFF, International Flavor & Fragrances, in Knislinge. The 17.000m2 land is comprised of modern offices, laboratories and test kitchens, state-of-the-art production and warehouse facilities. This expansion underlines Caldic’s ambition to strengthen its position as a leading full service distributor providing innovative ingredients, value added services and total solutions.

Caldic Sweden is known for its wide range of products, blending and packaging services, supply chain, and food application innovation in the Nordic countries. Acquiring this factory will contribute substantially to the company’s value added production capacity and solution development capabilities. Currently, the company offers a product portfolio consisting of trade products, innovative ingredients from triple A manufacturers, and functional ingredient solutions. Investing in this new site will further strengthen the sales of functional ingredient mixes, and the ability to develop new and customized concepts for customers in the food industry.

“Expanding our facilities means we will be able to further develop our innovative character being an effective and inspiring partner” says Olle Dahlgren, Managing Director of Caldic Sweden. Paul Veth, Director of Food Ingredients Europe, Caldic B.V., is also pleased with this expansion: “We have significantly increased our blending capacity, and acquired access to modern laboratories and practical test kitchens. This provides opportunities for concept development, customer demonstrations, and the training of our employees in order to create new customer solutions. In turn, this will further strengthen our value proposition to our customers.”

Currently functional ingredient solutions are produced for a wide range of food market segments. Examples are blends for diet and sports nutrition, confectionery, bakery, dairy and meat processing.
